First off I want to congratulate Melysbaby AKA Rebecca for winning the SUN challenge with her lovely Sunshine State Pillow!

Congratulations Rebecca!
Our team leader/challenge coordinator Spincushions has already announced Rebecca's choice for the next team challenge.  This time around our theme will be "Natural History".  You can get all the details on the team discussion board here!

I also wanted to take this opportunity to welcome the new members this week:

We are so happy to have you here! Please be sure to check out the discussion thread for new members where you can get information about submitting your blog to the team blog roll and your facebook page as well.

Lastly, I wanted to remind everyone and let the new members know that we do have a flickr page where team members can post photos of work.  You can find that here and we invite you all to share away!

I hope you all are gearing up for  a great weekend!

Q.  Tell us a bit about yourself and your shop.

A.  My name is Rebecca aka melysbaby. I live in beautiful, sunny Florida and have a charming and funny 7 year-old daughter and two playful kitties. I hand-embroider vintage patterns and designs onto household linens and clothing. I also do local custom orders of whimsical hand-embroidered family trees..

Q.  What or Who inspires you?

A.
Everything vintage! I love all the vintage embroidery and designs found on old linens and clothing. But I am drawn to anything vintage, not just embroidered items, especially from the 1930s through the 1950s. I love the colors used and the styles. Maybe I am just nostalgic for a simpler time.

Q.  When you're not doing things for your shop can we find you around the internet?

A.  I have a photostream on flickr that shows all my work...past and present.

Q.  Just for fun tell us your favorite color.

A.  I love blue..every shade of blue! I think it shows when you look at things I have embroidered! I just love that blue can be calming and soothing or vibrant and uplifting.
