Tips and Tricks Tuesday: Silk Embroidery Floss

I love the shiny, sophisticated look of silk embroidery floss, but it's expensive so I've always been afraid to try it. Today I'm looking for some tips to help me feel more confident!

Silk Thread Embroidery How-To - Including a discussion on how to split the threads, which is a little different than how you might split cotton thread.
Su Embroidery - A hand embroidery studio in China that specializes in embroidery using silk threads. It's common to see silk embroidery in textile art from China, Korea, and Japan; they often use very detailed shading that can't be accomplished with common cotton threads.
